The Gage, in partnership with the Galway Committee of Chicago Sister Cities International, welcomes Chef Jess Murphy of Kai in Galway — one of Ireland’s most acclaimed restaurants and the country’s only Michelin Green Star — for an exclusive culinary evening celebrating the flavors and spirit of modern Ireland. Founded by Jess and her husband Dave, Kai embodies the belief that what’s in season should be what’s on your plate — locally sourced, wild, and cooked with heart.

This special event also marks the debut of The Kai Cookbook: A Love Letter to the West of Ireland, Jess Murphy’s newly released collection of over 100 recipes inspired by her restaurant’s ingredient-driven philosophy and the people and places that shape it. Guests will enjoy a menu featuring dishes and stories drawn from the book, offering a taste of Galway’s rugged coast and soulful culinary culture.

The evening will include a personal meet-and-greet opportunity with Chef Jess Murphy, offering guests a chance to connect with her and hear firsthand about her culinary journey and inspiration.

A portion of event proceeds will benefit the Galway Committee of Chicago Sister Cities International (CSCI), advancing cultural, educational, social service, and artistic exchange programs between Chicago and Galway.

All ticket holders will automatically be entered into a raffle for a two-night stay at The Galmont Hotel in Galway and dinner for two at Kai.
